It cannot be seen from outside. Within this gap, two videos were produced, and a third one was done on the facade of the building. One of the works show fifteen immigrants occupying the space, along with sounds of conversation fragments. In the second video, I measure the height, width, and depth of the place. In the third piece, the facade of the building is filmed. The starting point for the three videos is the golden carving, as a symbol to reflect on the structures of power, immigration and its implications in the contemporary world.\u201d[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/3&#8243;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;11273&#8243; img_size=&#8221;medium&#8221; alignment=&#8221;center&#8221;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=&#8221;2\/3&#8243;][vc_column_text]<strong>Donghwan Ko<\/strong><br \/>\n\u201cMy works is revolving heavily around strong affiliation towards understanding the dynamic nature of the spaces which we define as home. I believe a home is not a fixed space and an imperfect space that changes or moves along with time. And in return life (&#8230;) leaves marks on you. &#8220;<\/p>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/3&#8243;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;11275&#8243; img_size=&#8221;medium&#8221; alignment=&#8221;center&#8221;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=&#8221;2\/3&#8243;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Orly Ruaimi<\/strong><br \/>\n\u201cAt Hangar I had the opportunity to research the rich history of painted ceramic tiles (Azulejos) in Portugal. The square ceramic tiles are used as exterior and interior of buildings, their function spans from temperature control, ornamental art, storytelling murals and local culture symbols. Walking through the historic streets and buildings of Lisbon, I couldn&#8217;t help but notice the cubed stones linking all roads and sidewalks of the city, which are another square shape added to the tiled city scape. It made me think of pixels, programing and language, a way of communicating. The work I have started in Lisbon speaks to bringing people together through food and celebratory culture, meals as a way of cultivating relationships, celebrating family and life. Traditionally the Azulejo has ornamental designs or paintings of history and cultural myths.
